A costume shop in Greenwich which has been dressing people up for decades is now facing an uncertain future.
Customers at Sophia's can find costumes from the 60s, 70s, 80s and even 1880s, but now this business is at a crossroads.
The pandemic hit the store hard and a planned development means its lease may not be renewed. Store owner Sophia Scarlpelli is now wondering what her next move will be.
"I would really like to stay alive, I would like to stay in business. It's just challenging now because after COVID, to be frank with you, I don't have tons of money lying around," Scarlpelli says.
Scarpelli is considering a number of options, including a pop-up shop or a move to a different town, but the transportation of all the shop's costumes will not be easy.
Scarpelli says she expects to hear if the development is going forward in about a month.
