Speed cameras could be coming to Greenwich after all.

The Greenwich Representative Town Meeting voted Monday to allow police to submit their proposal to the Connecticut Department of Transportation to create an automated speed camera enforcement program in town.

The town suspended its program in April after it discovered that the approval process was not done correctly.

Chief James Heavey says the cameras will address the many complaints police have received regarding speeding and reckless driving.

He says the department will work to review their program and go through the required approval process.

The department will also deploy targeted speed and traffic enforcement in town to respond to residents' concerns.
