Greenwich residents are voicing their concerns about what they're calling a noisy neighborhood school.
Residents on Indian Rock Lane and surrounding streets say they are frustrated that Central Middle School is rented out during weekends. Issues cited by them include the noise and buildup of traffic in the area.
Trinity Church has held its services at the school each week for the past 15 years because the church does not have its own building.
Regg Jones, chairman of the Trinity Church council, says the church has never received any direct complaints from neighbors. He says the church tries to control the flow of traffic as well as it can, and they have also held Easter services at the nearby Hyatt hotel because of the higher turnout.
Trinity has hired a police officer to direct traffic for the past few years, Jones says.
Austin Clark, who lives across from Central Middle School, says that not everyone who uses the building has been considerate of the neighbors. He believes that the building should be solely used for school functions.
A Greenwich schools spokesperson says they are reviewing the situation regarding the Sunday rental of the building.
