West Norwalk residents won't have to travel far next time they need urgent care.
Hartford HealthCare celebrated the opening of its 50th urgent care location on Connecticut Avenue on Friday. This is their second location in Norwalk.
Currently, Hartford HealthCare has 11 sites in Fairfield County. The center will serve Norwalk as well as the surrounding community.
The new location offers X-ray, rapid lab testing and diagnostics, as well as virtual care options.
Physicians say they also benefit from being part of the Hartford HealthCare system.
"If you come to me and I see you here in this urgent care and you need specialist care, I have specialists within our system that I can refer you to and get you in front of a cardiologist, or an orthopedist in the next day or two," says Dr. Frank Illuzzi, medical director for the Fairfield region of Hartford HealthCare.
All 50 urgent care locations in Connecticut are open seven days a week, with extended hours.
