Hundreds of residents turned out for a health fair Sunday at Bridgeport's Upper East Side.
The event helped attendees get everything from mental health care to free screenings for cancer and diabetes.
"It is so important for people to have early detection and prevention," said Louisa Correll, of Yale New Haven Hospital.
"You need your blood pressure checked often, you need your diabetic screening done, you need to go to the doctor," said Dr. Sherleen Harding.
The event was held in partnership with Southwest Community Health Center, Pivot Ministries and other nonprofit organizations.
