It took extra innings, but the Fairfield National Little League team defeated New Jersey 3-0 Wednesday night in a thriller to stay alive in the Metro Region Tournament.
“The heart is still pounding,” says manager Brian Palazzolo. “It feels great to get the win and come out on top, we got some clutch hits.”
With the win, Fairfield National advances to Friday night’s championship game versus New York.
The winner of that game will advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
