Angelica Pagan broke down in tears as she stood at the corner of Maplewood and Park avenues in the pouring rain Monday.
It was one day after her mom - 81-year-old Angela Pagan - was killed at the intersection by a hit-and-run driver.
"She was my everything and I want justice," Pagan told News 12.
"This is the worst day of my life, and I want justice. I want that driver to do the right thing and turn themselves in," Pagan said.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 Connecticut shows Pagan walking across Park Avenue, just North of Maplewood Avenue, at 9:42 p.m. Sunday.
A white SUV can then be seen striking Pagan, who can be seen landing about 20 feet from the point of impact.
Pagan was rushed to Saint Vincent's Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased 48 minutes after the accident, police said.
Good Samaritan Luis Montanez says he witnessed the accident and called 911.
"I tried to help her, but it was clear from the extent of her injuries -- which were traumatic to see, to say the least - that there was nothing anybody could do. She was lifeless and it was heartbreaking, and I will never forget it," Montanez said.
The victim's daughter is urging the driver "to do the right thing."
"This will haunt you until the day you die-- but at least you can have the peace of knowing you did the right thing. You must turn yourself in - it's not really up for debate. Turn yourself in and give us some peace. We deserve at least that much," Pagan said.
Police ask anyone who can help identify the driver to call 203-576-TIPS.
