Hit-and-run driver damaged Bridgeport man’s property, apologized before fleeing

A Bridgeport homeowner joined police Saturday to ask for the public's help to find the driver who crashed onto his property and fled.

A Bridgeport homeowner joined police Saturday to ask for the public's help to find the driver who crashed onto his property and fled.
He says the driver caused hundreds of dollars' worth of damage when he smashed his fence and mailbox Thursday afternoon.
Video captured the driver of a gray Ford Ranger getting out of the vehicle and apologizing to the homeowner. The driver is then be seen picking up his license plate, which came off during the crash, then leaving the scene before police arrived.
Officials say the homeowner's young son had just passed through the front gates moments before the impact.
