Bronx shoppers are eagerly awaiting the reopening of Fordham Road businesses that were shut down after a massive Foot Locker fire.
Inspectors say they must first ensure the shopping strip is structurally sound before the three stores can open. They include the Foot Locker that was ravaged in the October 11 fire. Foot Locker says it plans to rebuild in the same spot. Meanwhile, insurers say it will take months for repairs to be completed.
Some consumers say they hope the three businesses will reopen in time for Christmas shopping. Many claim they can?t get better bargains in the borough.
