After the terror in Paris, Homeland Security and the FBI issued a warning to police agencies across the nation to be on high alert.
In a new memo, they warn that the airstrikes in Syria could provoke homegrown terrorists to stage attacks like those in Paris that killed 130.
State troopers are telling everyone to be alert at "soft targets." The targets include areas such as shopping malls, sports arenas, concerts and other large gatherings.
"The State Police reminds everybody again, we talk about it all the time, stay vigilant. Pay attention to what's around you, be aware of your surroundings," says Trooper Kelly Grant, of the Connecticut State Police. "Anybody acting suspiciously, you see a suspicious vehicle, you see somebody where you don't think they should be, give us a call."
The memo warns local and state police departments to review for active shooter situations.
