Hope dims for fall football after no deal is reached at Capitol meeting

The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference tried to convince the state Department of Public Health Friday that full-contact football this fall can be safe with the right modifications – but they failed to reach a deal.
During the meeting that lasted several hours at the state Capitol, health officials said they are still not on board with the season going forward.
The state health commissioner says she still wants football to wait until the spring semester.
Ultimately, it's up to the CIAC how to move forward.
