Gov. Ned Lamont reportedly called Houston's downtown "butt ugly" on a Connecticut radio show this week after being down there for UConn's NCAA championship game.
When asked about the comment by reporters, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said in part, "Oh, hell no. No...We're not gonna feed you, dine you, host you, house you, clean up after you. And then you win, and you're gonna go back and talk about, 'butt ugly?'... which end was he looking from?"
Lamont responded to the mayor's retort saying, "I love the mayor's comment. He said, 'Maybe the governor is looking at the wrong end of a beautiful horse.' And I guess I resemble that comment."
On Thursday, Turner took to Twitter to say Lamont had apologized and that he had accepted his apology.
