Federal inspectors and state officials are investigating a weekend crane collapse in Stratford that sent a worker to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crane fell Saturday onto live wires and smashed a marina building. Authorities say this is the fourth collapse at the Moses Wheeler Bridge, which carries I-95 over the Housatonic River. The state Department of Transportation suspended the project until further safety measures are put in place. The worker injured in the accident is expected to recover. Inspectors say they are analyzing computerized data from the crane as part of their probe.
