More than 8,000 JCP&L customers were left without power on Friday night due to an issue at the company’s substation.

Issue at JCP&L substation leaves thousands without power in Long Branch
More than 8,000 JCP&L customers were left without power on Friday night due to an issue at the company’s substation.
News 12 New Jersey was told that some equipment was damaged there. The utility company also said that they took down several customers on that substation who didn’t lose power due to the issue. They were switched to another substation.
The outages came when temperatures in New Jersey were well below freezing.
