Shortly after a legendary jazz piano was restored by the Jazz Society of Fairfield County, the piano was put into storage due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the music stopped.
However, the 1937 Steinway Model M grand piano that once stood in the famous Village Gate jazz club in New York City has a new life in Westport at the Westport VFW Joseph J Clinton Post 399 on Riverside.
It has been played by a long list of iconic jazz musicians and inspires the efforts of Jazz Society of Fairfield County, who worked tirelessly to preserve its legacy.
Members of Jazz FC are back in full swing and now play every Thursday at the VFW.
