A federal judge denied a request from two nurses at the Syosset Hospital to temporarily block New York’s state vaccine mandate for health care workers.
According to Newsday, the nurses object to the mandated shots based on grounds for religious freedom filed in a First Amendment lawsuit.
The Syosset Hospital nurses along with another health care worker in Syracuse requested a temporary restraining order against the mandate, which goes into effect Sept. 27.
The two Syosset nurses have since filed an appeal.
