Kitchen fire displaces 3 residents at Norwalk apartment building

Three people were displaced after a kitchen fire damaged an apartment in Norwalk Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded around 6:49 a.m. to Building 17 at 261 Ely Ave. after receiving reports of a fire.
When Engine 5 arrived, crews found smoke coming from several third-floor windows at the front of the building.
Firefighters stretched a hose line into the apartment while crews searched the building, positioned ladders and ventilated the structure.
Officials said the fire was contained to the area of the stove.
The apartment sustained heavy smoke damage throughout.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The Norwalk Fire Marshal's Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
