State Senator Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox -- who represents Bridgeport, Trumbull and Monroe -- is leading an effort to establish a Connecticut India Trade Commission.
"Similar to the trade commissions we have with Puerto Rico and Ireland, the Connecticut India Trade Commission will bring dollars to Connecticut families. It means investment in Connecticut communities. It allows us to bring opportunities to strengthen industries like advanced manufacturing and the IT industry," he said.
Gadkar-Wilcox says the bill has strong bipartisan support and is expected to become law soon.
