The boil water order impacting five Long Island communities has been lifted.

A water main break in Baldwin on Friday prompted a boil water notice for Baldwin, Island Park, Oceanside, Roosevelt and South Hempstead.

“We are pleased to report that all tests came back negative for bacteria, and it is no longer necessary to boil water,” according to a statement from Liberty. “We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

The company says the main break was “isolated and water system pressure was restored shortly thereafter to all but 30 customers.” Those 30 customers had water restored on Saturday.

“Although test results showed there was no contamination, it is recommended that residents flush out every faucet for a minimum of 3 to 5 minutes before drinking or using the water since there was low pressure,” Liberty said. “Health care facilities, multiple story commercial buildings, apartment buildings, etc. must flush every faucet for a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes before drinking or using the water.”
