Beach authorities say they're proud of their team for rescuing an 11-year-old girl who went underwater on Memorial Day.
The victim was swimming with friends in front of the lifeguards about 50 yards out. Two Good Samaritans helped pull the girl out from underneath the water and the on-duty lifeguard swam her to shore. Nicholas Mogg, the chief lifeguard on-duty, said she was unresponsive.
The lifeguards administered medical assistance to the girl and police say she's doing well now.
