National Night Out brings police and their communities together

Millions of people across the country took part in Nation Night Out on Tuesday in hopes of bringing police officers and communities together.
Several Long Island communities took part in events, including one at William Floyd High School on their athletic field in Mastic Beach. There was a DJ, food and giveaways.
In Nassau, there was a similar event in Freeport at Bishop Frank White Park.
Other towns that participated include Ridge, Westbury and Hicksville.
National Night Out is a nationwide annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
