Several people who were once homeless are celebrating a new start in Bridgeport Thursday. With the help of Regional Network of Programs, 16 people are now calling the Seaview Avenue Apartments home. As part of the program, people who suffer from mental illness or have dealt with substance abuse can take advantage of permanent supportive housing. Residents can stay in the home for as long as they want; they just have to pay for their utilities. A life skills vocational coordinator is also on hand to teach residents housekeeping and budgeting skills and help them set up employment interviews.
