Students learned how to pull some strings to become puppeteers Friday in Garden City.
Those in the Puppetry and Sound Stories class were taught by master puppeteer Brad Brewer, who trained under Muppets creator Jim Henson.
The student puppeteers are holding rehearsals for their holiday performance Sunday at the Long Island Children's Museum.
Brewer's participation is part of the Long Island High School for the Arts' Visiting Artist program
The effort helps students, who are passionate about pursuing a career in the arts, get real-world experience and introduces them to mentors within their field.
