Louis Schede said he had given up hope until he saw a post about a local Ring Finder and decided to reach out.
The search began Monday night but had to be called off due to thunder and lightning.
The two returned Tuesday morning and successfully found the ring.
Schede said the experience gave him hope in people doing the right thing.
