For this week's Made in Connecticut, News 12 learned the history of Dickinson Brands in East Hampton. It's an age-old remedy that starts with a plant, much of it grown in the state.
Connecticut is said to be the center of the universe for witch hazel. It grows primarily in New England, and it’s harvested in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, all the way up to Maine.
Bryan Jackowitz is the president of Dickinson Brands, the largest manufacturer of witch hazel in the world that is used by some of the biggest pharmaceutical and consumer products companies across the globe.
