All right, it's Friday. That means it's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and the things they have to offer. Today we're at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Newswell, Connecticut's Mark Sudall. Get ready for a big workout, Mark. Oh yeah, Becky, yeah, you know, after the first of the year it's that time when people make their New Year's resolutions and a lot of them want to get healthy, right? Well, we're gonna try to do that here today. Dave Wegggerson is here with us this morning. Sue Prime is also with us, and Dave, I'm sure this time of year you get a lot of people coming in that want to sign up. Definitely gonna be busy around here. Thank you for joining us. Chelsea Piers Athletic Club having a lot of fun already this morning here. Classes going on, people working out trying to get their new Year's resolution goals. Absolutely love it right now. We have our trainer Suprime here as well. Going to bring you through a little bit of a warm up in a little bit. So tell us about the facility. What do you have to offer here? Unarrival facility, Chelsea Piers Athletic Club. We have a fitness club, 100+ group fitness classes on a weekly basis. Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts, we have turf soccer fields. We also do have basketball courts, ice rinks, family friendly fun, a lot of stuff here, you name it. All right, so while we're working out here, you can kind of describe what we're doing here because you're mic'd up and Sue isn't, of course, and you can also at the same time talk a little bit more about stuff that's going on here. Sue, come on over. So what are we going to start with here? Nice arm so closes right here. Big thing honestly, especially with people coming into working out in the new year. We want to be consistent. Warming up is very, very important for you to maintain that consistency. We don't want to come in here, go too hard right off the bat, be here for two weeks, and we're not going to see you for the rest of the year. We do not want to do that again. Warm ups very, very. arm circles warming up the shoulders. I think we're going to move on to knee hugs right here, get the rest of the body involved again, very, very important to get the whole body warmed up here, get that heart rate up, get the blood flowing, get that heart rate going. Yes sir. It looks like you're doing great right there in a couple weeks. He's a pro. He's a pro already. All right, let's go. I got some kicks to here. Again, another big thing is to also engage the core, having some fun already here. I think we got some treats a little bit later. I think you might be trying some yoga. Yes, that's what I heard. And then I heard Sue was going to do a little bit of a training session with you too, so really customize that right for what your goals are. All right, Dave and Sue, thank you so much. It's Friday. That means it's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities, the things they have to offer as well. And today we're at Chelsea Piers in Stanford, News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall, the last we saw him, he was already starting his workout. Get ready to go again. Getting ready to go again, get you know more of a stretching yoga workout before we get to the big stuff coming up in our next hour. Becky, Cathy Salvo is here this morning. So nice to join us and go through some of these stretches and yoga techniques. Now I told Cathy already that I got this wonky shoulder going on here and she's going to try to help me kind of work that out a little bit. Yeah, no, Mark. Well, welcome, and we want to do work on this. We can see that show the show the folks so we can see that he's basically suffering from technec. You can tell that he's held the camera for a while. He works on different pieces of equipment like his cell phone, which I saw him carrying very much. Uh, computer wise driving, so his shoulders are rolled forward, and we really want to pull it back. It'll help with his posture here. It's going to help with his breathing because it opens it up and basically breathing is the cornerstone of all yoga. So if we can open him up, he's going to start to feel so much better. He's going to be able to take an easy breath in, really expand and You know, the breath is the thing that really fuels us each and every day. So we're going to work on getting these shoulders a little bit more open. So what are we going to do? Well, I want you to stand there and just softly bend your knees, and when you bend your knees, can you feel that you really connect with the earth a little bit more? Well, the floor seems hard, yeah. Oh, well, so, but lock your legs out. Lock your legs out for me, and you feel what your feet feel like, right? It's almost like you're standing hard on the ground, so soften the knees here just a little bit. And feel how you've like dropped in, settled in, got a little softer. All right, we want you to be not rigid, right? Yoga is not about rigid. It's about really just being a little looser. So just relax here a little bit, see if you can move the shoulders. OK. And then we want you to inhale, shrug the shoulders up towards your ears. Exhale, just take them on back, right? I like that. Sounded breathing, right? He crack. Inhale, that's a good thing, no worries. And then exhale. Two more times that's why we want you to inhale. Exhale, roll it on back. One more time, inhale, exhale, roll it on back. All right, now we want to take that movement in the opposite direction, right? So we're gonna shrug the shoulders and bring them forward. I think I, I think I have to wrap this up unfortunately because we have to get ready for our Upcoming segment in our next hour. Becky, I'm gonna work on this shoulder and then. In our next hour we're gonna really get down to business. All right, looks like, oh, I'll let you keep with your workout. Oh, OK. All right.
