The man accused of murdering a pregnant mother in 2001 faced a judge in Bridgeport Tuesday.
Police say a bloody palm print at the Stratford crime scene five years ago was left by 27-year-old Michael McClendon. Authorities believe McClendon raped and stabbed 21-year-old Shani Baldwin in her McPadden Drive home. When McClendon was charged last August in an unrelated larceny case, his palm was entered into a Connecticut forensic system.
Bail for McClendon has been increased from $500,000 to $1 million. He will be back in court on April 25.
