A Stamford man is facing charges after police say he shook a 3-month-old baby to death.
Police say Aswaldo Romero, 22, was baby-sitting the child last Friday.
Officials say that the baby's mother and Romero are friends and that he asked if he could watch the child.
A couple of hours later, police say Romero called the mother to let her know the baby was not breathing.
Investigators say that it was during those two hours that Romero shook the baby to death and are still investigating the circumstances behind why Romero may have killed the child.
Romero has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and is being held on $1 million bond.
