Immigration activists are condemning what they call a horrifying arrest caught on camera Monday afternoon in Stamford.
Witnesses say it happened in the Stamford Superior Court parking garage around 1 p.m.
Video shows men in FBI vests arresting an individual on the ground of the parking garage as people watched it all play out.
The men lifted the individual off the ground before placing them into the back of a black car.
Lizzie Eiffler is part of the grassroots group Stamford Norwalk United with Immigrants and says she was horrified as a bystander.
"As it always happens ‘woosh’ in seconds, there are five cars surrounding this man and his wife in the car. They manhandled him, trying to get him out of the car. By then, there was a pretty good audience of people videotaping all of the shouting, 'Where's the warrant? Leave him alone,'” Eiffler said. “All the things we could possibly think of. I saw a real assault today in this parking garage. This poor man's face was smashed into the pavement, and they would not get off of him.”
News 12 reached out to ICE for comment and is waiting to hear back.
No word yet on the person’s identity or why they were arrested.
