Man charged in connection with Stratford slaying

Police have charged a  24-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of another man Saturday.
Brandyn Ford allegedly shot Andre Pettway around 7 p.m. on Garibaldi Avenue. Pettway later died at Bridgeport Hospital, according to authorities.
Tactical officers took Ford into custody Monday, less than 48 hours after the crime.
"There's the possibility of more arrests coming," says Capt. Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police Department. "Right now, everything is being actively investigated so there's not much more I can comment right now. There are ongoing leads they're following right now."
Ford is facing several charges including murder, having a weapon in a vehicle, reckless endangerment and risk of injury to minors. He is being held on a $1.25 million bond.
The deadly shooting Saturday was the first slaying in the town in about five years.
