Man killed, 7 others injured after boat crashes on Connecticut River bank

A man was killed and seven other people, including children, were injured in a boat crash off the shore of the Connecticut River in Portland, officials say.

A man was killed and seven other people, including children, were injured in a boat crash off the shore of the Connecticut River in Portland, officials say.
The incident happened Sunday just north of Petzold's Marina at marker 100 just after 4 p.m.  
First responders arrived on scene and found multiple victims in the water and on the rocks along the shore near the Portland Fair
Grounds.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene and seven other people who were on board were transported to the hospital with injuries inlcuding two children.
The crash is under investigation, officials say.
Officials have identified the 60-year-old man killed in the Connecticut River boating accident as Wayne Hamler, of Waterford.
Officials announced on July 13 that one person has been released from the hospital. The status of the other people remains unchanged.
