Police are guarding the 19-year-old suspect while he recovers in a hospital from non-life threatening injuries. Authorities say they responded to the sound of gunshots about 2 a.m. Saturday on the corner of Atlantic and Bank streets. Police say they found the suspect firing his weapon and an officer shot him after he failed to follow instructions. Stamford police believe the veteran cop acted appropriately.
Authorities continue to investigate the original shooting, but say it may be gang-related. No one was injured except for the suspect who was on probation at the time of the incident.
