A man charged with fatally shooting a 12-year-old Bridgeport boy will spend more than three decades behind bars.
Tajay Chambers was sentenced to 32 years for the death of 12-year-old Clinton Howell. The maximum time that he could have received was 35 years.
Clinton was killed in 2018 during a drive-by shooting outside his home a week before Christmas. Police say Clinton's cousin, who was walking with him, had been the intended target.
Clinton's sister, Raegean Dawkins, says the holidays will never be the same.
"There's no Christmas. No nothing. No lights, no trees, no presents, no joy. No comfort, no warmth," Dawkins.
Chambers' defense attorney argued the defendant is developmentally disabled and has no familial support.
While nothing will bring their brother back, the family of Clinton says they are happy with the three decades his shooter will spend behind bars.
