A Bridgeport man was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Monday for the fatal shooting of a Stamford man in 2017.
Shardel Ragin, 36, was convicted of fatally shooting Max Antoine, 34, outside a Bridgeport restaurant.
Antoine's family says they are grateful that justice has been served.
"We feel relieved now, but nobody gains from the situation. Our family is still dealing with the loss of my brother,” said Wilner Joseph, the victim’s brother.
Ragin was also sentenced to an additional 10 years on a gun charge.
“He's taken off the streets, someone with that criminal history doesn't need to be walking the streets hurting innocent people," said Joseph.
