A man is in serious condition after he was shot multiple times in broad daylight during an argument, and the gunman is on the loose, according to police.
Police say one man pulled out a knife during the argument on East 182nd Street and Walton Avenue around 9:15 a.m. Friday. The other man ran into a building and returned with a gun, shooting the 24-year-old man twice in the back and once in the abdomen, according to police. The shooter then ran away.
Investigators cordoned off the area, searching the trunks and other parts of nearby cars for evidence after they found a bullet hole in a parked car and a bullet on the ground.
One man, who didn't want to be identified, said he wasn't allowed to take his car, causing him to miss work.
A surveillance camera that could have potentially captured video of the suspect is pointed away from the ground. Residents say the camera hasn't worked in years.
