Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim is expressed his gratitude to the city's religious leaders for hosting dozens of vaccination clinics.
Ganim says thousands of residents are getting vaccines every week, and religious leaders have helped in the process.
"And those that I've talked to have found it comforting to go to their churches and get their vaccines there," Ganim says. "It's working and we want to thank the religious leadership in the city of Bridgeport."
Ganim also thanked community health care clinics and other nonprofits for helping with the effort.
He says millions of dollars from the federal government are providing the boost.
