Mayor John Fabrizi (D-Bridgeport) outlined a five-point plan Wednesday to attract new businesses and residents to the city. The mayor says it has taken a tremendous amount of work to restore the city's reputation and to get economic development projects moving again. He says he is optimistic about a plan to fuel the city's revitalization. The plan will focus heavily on ethics training for city employees and elected officials. Also included in the plan is school revitalization. Bridgeport is building five elementary schools and the mayor says he'll continue to fight for funding for two new magnet schools and after-school programs. Fabrizi says the city is cracking down on drug trafficking and gang activity and working toward more affordable housing. He says all these components will help set the stage for economic development.
