Students and staff at Westhill High School in Stamford held a memorial service Tuesday for one of their teachers. Patricia Mery, 59, was a Spanish teacher at the high school, and last week she was found murdered inside her New York apartment in Ossining. The memorial was held outside, and more than 120 of Mery?s students planted a tree in the courtyard of the school in her honor. Both students and staff spoke about Mery?s life as a dedicated educator and friend. School administrators say the service is part of the healing process. Police are still investigating her murder.
