A former Mets player from Baldwin played ball again – this time at Citi Field – on Old Timers’ Day.

41ds agoA former Mets player from Baldwin is going to play ball again – this time at Citi Field – on Old Timers’ Day.
Steve Dillon, 79, first signed with the Yankees after graduating from Cardinal Hayes High School.
“I was just a normal baseball player looking to win every game that I could when I started pitching,” Dillon told News 12. “I won two championships, playing one with the Yankees and one with the Mets. It was a dream come true.”
He is among 65 former players and managers who will be honored in the first “Old Timers’ Day” in 30 years.
“Being on the field in uniform – special, very special,” he said.
Dillon says he has been practicing his pitches and is ready to play once again at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Most of Dillon's family, which includes five children and 13 grandchildren, will be at Citi Field to cheer him on.
