(07/17/06) MILFORD ? Parents are up in arms after the Milford Board of Education voted Monday to hire a consulting firm in their search for a new superintendent.
The board is looking to replace outgoing Superintendent Greg Firn, whose contract they chose not to renew. Firn came under fire after he wrote a letter of recommendation for a youth basketball coach accused of having a sexual affair with a 16-year-old player. Parents who support Firn say the board is wasting money to replace someone who is already doing a good job.
Board members say they don?t plan buying out Firn?s contract. He's expected to finish up next June. The actual search for superintendent candidates is slated to begin in January.
