Police have arrested the second largest gun dealer in Connecticut and accused him of illegally selling weapons.
Authorities say 61-year-old Frank D?Andrea, owner of D?Andrea?s Guns and Safes Unlimited in Milford, is responsible for putting guns in the wrong hands. According to investigators, an audit of D?Andrea?s former business in Stratford turned up a number of illegal weapons and record keeping violations. He is also accused of falsely saying background checks had been done on buyers when they had not.
Prosecutors say D?Andrea also claims to have lost 157 firearms, many of which they say have turned up in crimes throughout the state. D?Andrea denies the charges. He is free on $200,000 bond.
