Milford police are searching for a driver who they say allegedly tried to make contact with a 13-year-old girl while she was walking home from school yesterday.
The teen was on the corner of West Main and Gunn streets when authorities say a motorist in a red car, possibly a Honda, pulled up to the stop sign and said, "Hi, what's your name?"
Police say the man took off, but then returned, driving slowly past the girl and a friend she had met up with. Authorities say he did not initiate any contact that second time.
Also, a father told News 12 Connecticut that almost the same thing happened to his 11-year-old daughter last week in the same area.
School officials sent an email to parents after yesterday's incident, asking them to be vigilant during the morning and afternoon hours when kids are traveling to and from school.
