A Milford recycling plant has received tentative approval from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) for its expansion plans.
Recycling Inc. is located on Naugatuck Avenue. The expansion will allow them to transport 700 tons of waste, more than their current limit.
Residents and local leaders say they are concerned with how many trucks would be allowed in and out of the plant daily, as well as the impact they'd have on the environment and the neighborhood.
DEEP claims to have created several new guidelines aimed at protecting the area.
Residents have until March 10 to voice any concerns before the decision is finalized.
