The University of Connecticut was the top choice of schools for many Bridgeport students this year. Sixty-five seniors from Bridgeport's Central High School were accepted to the University of Connecticut for the fall semester. It's the most students accepted from any high school in the state. UCONN's Senior Assistant Director Larry Williams says more inner city students are applying because they understand the importance of higher education. The school received more than 20,000 applications this year and only 3,250 students will become Huskies. Williams says these students made the grade in a very competitive selection process.
