STORM WATCH: Tracking chances for storms in parts of CT Thursday with heavy rain
News 12 meteorologists are tracking a chance for storms in western Connecticut on Thursday that could be severe.
The day will start out mostly cloudly and calm, but the storms are expected to pick up in the afternoon, around 3 p.m. The scattered storms chances will continue through the late evening hours.
News 12 meteorologists say preparing for the possibility of flash flooding and power outages is recommended.
Depending on where you are, the chance of seeing strong and severe storms may or may not happen.
If you’re farther south, there’s a less chance of severe thunderstorms. If you’re father north, there’s a stronger possibility of seeing severe thunderstorms.
It starts to clear up for Friday, and the weekend is shaping up to be calm and clear with temperatures in the 80s.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy start, then storms possible after about 3pm on. Could go as late as 10-11pm. If we see severe could be closer to 7-8pm
FRIDAY: Partly sunny and warm. Highs near 82 degrees
STAURDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 84 degrees.
SUNDAY: Sunny, with a high near 78 degrees.
