Family, friends and politicians poured into a Milford church Monday to celebrate the brief life of Marine Corporal Jordan Pierson, who was killed in Iraq on August 25.Mourners filled the Calvary Church on White Plains Road to pay their respects and share memories of Corporal Pierson, 21, a graduate of Foran High School. The Marine?s family is asking those who gathered at his funeral to remember Pierson not for the tragic way he died, but for the valiant way he sacrificed his life for his country.Pierson had only 60 days left before he was due to come home, but a routine patrol near Fallujah turned deadly. Insurgents ambushed his unit, then fatally shot Pierson. The Marine will be buried with full military honors Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery. The town of Milord plans a permanent memorial to him.
