Officials say a Bronx pharmacist was part of a Medicaid scam where more than $1 million in cash was sent to Pakistan to cover it up.They say the $5 million scam involved one doctor and five pharmacists, including Deepak Sachdev, who allegedly issued thousands of phony prescriptions for AIDS drugs through the Bronx medical practice TLC Medical. Those drugs were then sold by runners to other pharmacies in the Bronx and other boroughs.The prescriptions were sold for as little as $100, but pharmacy owners billed Medicaid millions for prescriptions they never dispensed. State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer (D-NY) is charging the suspects with grand larceny and conspiracy. They face up to 25 years behind bars.
