Bridgeport police are touting a 30% drop in crime.
The city released year-to-date stats through the third quarter on Wednesday.
Police say murders are down 80 percent compared to the same point last year.
The report also shows sex assaults down 42 percent, robbery down 50 percent, aggravated assault down 29 percent, and burglary down 30 percent.
Chief Roderick Porter says he hopes to continue the decreases going forward.
“You know I’m surprised, but really not surprised because I see a trend in the city of Bridgeport where it’s really starting to thrive and there’s a lot more community involvement and community engagement and it’s really becoming a more welcoming city where people are coming,” Porter said.
