Protests against the Trump administration were held Thursday across the country and across Connecticut.

Protesters called this May Day a National Day of Action. They say they want to stop what they call a billionaire takeover.

Trump protesters lined the corner of Sport Hill Road and Congress Street in Fairfield along the Merritt Parkway Thursday demanding change in Washington.

"I don't think there is a plan. I think we're flying by the seat of somebody's pants right now and seeing what works. Which is a very dangerous thing to do when lives are at stake," said protest organizer Jonathan Webster.

Thursday was also International Workers' Day, which honors the working class and labor movement. Protesters said the Trump administration is not working for them.

"Tariffs are killing our economy right now. We're only beginning to see the supply chain disruptions that are going to happen. If nothing else, we are sending a message to our representatives," said Lise Fleuette from Easton.

Protesters also shared worries about Social Security and their 401(k) plans.

"If we can empower our legislators to do more to protect us, that's all good to me," said Fleuette.

A protest was held in Norwalk and in Greenwich. More protests are planned on Saturday in Stamford and Westport.
