A new Amazon facility is coming to Danbury at the former Scholastic Distribution Center.
Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton posted a video on Facebook almost three years ago trying to get Amazon to come to the city. And now, his efforts have paid off.
Boughton says the new Amazon shipment facility will bring as many as 500 jobs along with it.
The mayor says the city is uniquely situated to be able to deliver products near its major routes, especially PPE in this difficult time.
Danbury will join Connecticut distribution centers in North Haven and Stratford, and generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax revenue.
Boughton's office says the plan is for the 150,000-square-foot facility to open for Amazon in the fall.
